About Rocky Bay
Privacy and seclusion. Though remote, it’s just a 5-minute drive to town and beaches.
No noise pollution. There are no bars or restaurants playing loud music within earshot of Rocky Bay.
Protective covenants. Rocky Bay is protected by laws ensuring the area’s natural beauty.
Protection from strong winds. From December to April, NE trade winds can blow up to 25 knots. All plots are naturally protected and south facing.
No Sargasso seaweed. An increasing problem throughout the Caribbean. As Sargasso decays, it emits Hydrogen Sulphide gas which doesn’t just smell bad, it’s corrosive and harmful to breathe.
Beautiful views. Rocky Bay’s stunning views of Mustique and the surrounding Grenadines speak for themselves.
Living in Bequia Vs. A Bequia Vacation
Buying land in Bequia is a considerable investment. It’s crucial to understand what life is like living here in comparison to your vacation stay.
You’ll naturally spend more time at home because you’ve built your dream space. You’ll want to make the most of it whenever possible. Many find a shaded verandah with their own private pool much more appealing when living here for longer periods.
Most vacationers think their dream is to buy a villa or plot by their favourite beach. Remember, living there for long periods will come with noise pollution such as beach parties and live music. We know that living here is quite different than spending a week or two on holiday. For those of us who are lucky enough to live here, even for just a few months a year, home is at the very center of our island life. The casual visitor will never see it, but once you get to know this place, you’ll see that Rocky Bay has the perfect combination of attributes to ensure happiness and long-term satisfaction.

A few more things to consider, avoid, or otherwise think twice about
West-facing plots-Sunsets are undeniably nice, but full western exposures make villas unbearably hot in the afternoon.
Harbour views-It’s probably not the first thing you think of, but homes overlooking Admiralty Bay are subject to quite a bit of noise pollution at night.
Land near the main beaches-It’s wise to consider a few things here, Sargasso weed on certain NE and east facing beaches, increased mosquitos and a general reduction of privacy.
